We have always dreamed of a weekend retreat that combines both yoga posture practice and sitting meditation with each having a place of importance.

So, we designed it!



Introducing the One Day Pass!

We think a long weekend retreat allows more time to un-wind.  But if you can’t swing a long weekend, we are offering one-day getaway option.

Join us on Saturday, July 27th for a full day filled with meditation, yoga, group connection, free time to delve deeper and delicious food.

One day away may be just what you need to recharge your commitment to yourself. The natural beauty of The Well Being Retreat Center provides the perfect space to quickly sense freedom from your daily routines and the schedule of the day provides the perfect structure to allow you to tune into yourself.

Our day long retreat starts at 9:30 am and includes 2 Yoga classes and 2 Meditation workshops plus lunch and dinner*.  During the free time, you will have access to the Well Being Center property (some choices include kayaking or swimming in the Powell River, hiking the gorgeous trails, walking the labyrinth, and simply communing in nature). We’ll also give you an Inner Space eye pillow to take home with you!

$175 per person.

This weekend retreat will include 4 yoga practices and various meditation sitting practices. We will also take time to build community and enjoy the beautiful natural setting of East Tennessee. With the mountain range nearby, you can unwind in nature, with the yoga asana classes, you can unravel your body, and with the sitting and walking meditations, you can unfurl your mind. 


Everything at Well Being Retreat Center supports health and wellness: wellness of body, wellness of mind, and, of course, wellness of spirit. The center located on 160 acres in rural, scenic Northeast Tennessee surrounded by two miles of the Powell River. The land is quiet enough that you can hear a deer rustling from across the river, or an owl calling from a mile away, or hear the breeze in the trees. The earth-sheltered cabins are low EMF and the beds are very comfortable. Meals are fresh, flavorful, gluten-free and healthy. 


Well Being Retreat Center is steeped in Nature with distant mountain views and quiet river walks, has eleven comfortable cabins that can sleep up to 28 guests, an environmentally-controlled meeting room, a licensed commercial kitchen which provides fresh, mostly organic, often on-farm, meals either vegetarian or non-vegetarian or both. The retreat center is 1.5 hours northeast of Knoxville, TN;  2.25 hours west of Asheville, NC.  Directions can be found here.

We will start Friday evening and after dinner, we will check in with one another, have a relaxing yoga practice, and meditate together. On Saturday and Sunday, the meditation hall will open at 6 am and there will be sitting and walking meditation until breakfast. We will have a vigorous 2-hour practice Saturday morning to be followed by time in nature. In the afternoon, we will meet and learn certain meditative techniques as well as group meditative practices. Our evening will include a much-needed yin class. Sunday will start with meditation at 6 am, and we will have a yoga class and closing ceremony after lunch.

Inner Space Yoga and Meditation Supplies is a locally owned yoga and meditation prop company that makes beautiful bolsters and cushions in Knoxville, TN and ships them all over the world. Tammy Kaousias owns the company and Jen Coffin operates it. Tammy and Jen are both long-time yogis and each brings her own unique understanding of the practice to everything they do. That includes leading the First Annual Inner Space Yoga & Meditation Retreat! Come hang out and learn something about yourself. The tuition includes 6 meals, accommodations, all classes as well as your choice of an Inner Space bolster or cushion.  


Jen, a yoga teacher for 16 years, approaches her practice and teaching with precision and strength and a tremendous amount of creativity. She tends to focus on skill building in her classes and her yin yoga class is one of the most popular yoga classes in Knoxville.  She will bring her blend of strength, stretch and relaxation and her signature Yin class as well as her exuberance. 

Tammy has practiced yoga on and off since the ‘80’s. In 2011 she bought one of the most popular yoga studios in Knoxville where she organized and designed five highly successful yoga teacher training programs. She has facilitated the koan meditation group for over three years as well as led various group methods of practicing tonglen meditation.  Her facilitation and group conversation provides an avenue for meditation that is accessible to beginners and advanced practitioners. In this retreat, will focus on open awareness meditation as well as sky gazing, body scanning and koan meditation.

The retreat begins with check-in at 4:00pm on Friday, July 26th and ends with lunch on Sunday, July 28, 2019 by 2:00pm.

CEU’s:  RYTs receive 7.5 CEU hours for Yoga Alliance for participating in Jen's classes as she is a YA Continuing Education Provider.
