We did it! Prototype after prototype, tweak after tweak, our new tote is finally here. At first we were designing on trend - you've seen those huge totes all over the place, haven't you? We felt the pressure to keep up with the Design Joneses. 

But we kept coming back to our central goal: Use 100% of the bolster drop (the excess fabric from the bolster pattern) without sacrificing the Inner Space hallmark of excellence and detail.

And we did it! Enter  the Unique Like You tote. 

The Unique Like You tote is designed for strength, beauty and quality. We took what would have gone to the landfill and made it into something beautiful and useful. This tote is 100% upcycled. It is made from the drop of our bolsters ... not PART OF the drop of our bolsters. The difference in these approaches is huge. We are designing for zero waste. 

Because we have designed with 100% upcycle as a goal, the dimensions  of each tote will vary. The tote is approximately 15"x13" without the handles, but the tote body, the length of the handles, and the pocket size are a little different on each one. The handles are long - we know how to use a tote and we want tote handles you can use.  We are not leaving anything on the cutting room floor. All the transformed goodness is going to you.  Each one is unique in order to meet our goal of 100% excess fabric. The same, but different!

We aren’t skimping on the details. We use French seams on the inside, not serged seams or single or double stitch. A french seam is a technique that doubles the seam by folding the garment on itself. The double fold of the seam makes a clean, meticulous line that won’t fray and is much stronger and lasts longer than a regular seam.

We use a boxed bottom to give you more inner space. This also helps distribute the tension throughout the fabric when the tote is filled to the brim. It's not too big and not too small. Perfect for shopping, running around, yoga or the gym. Bring it to the market, the library, the yoga studio, the office, the mountains, the dance. Fill it with what you love and need ... and not more. (🤷🏻‍♀️)
