So Many Yoga Bolsters, So Much Support!

So Many Yoga Bolsters, So Much Support!

Covid was rough for those in the yoga business. Studios closed. Teachers learned to teach on Zoom. Everyone was trying to keep their doors open somehow when physical spaces were closed.

Studio owners got creative. And many studios sold off their beloved Inner Space bolsters to students practicing at home.

Nicole Zimmer of Pink Lotus Yoga Center in Lexington, South Carolina was one of them.

“My students loved to come and pick their bolster for class, like they were picking their favorite horse to ride the merry-go-round. And when Covid hit the bolsters were all just sitting there, looking so lonely. So, I started adopting them out. Students came one by one to buy them. Then when I was teaching on Zoom, I got to see all my students using the beautiful bolsters and it made me so happy.”

It was a community effort to keep their yoga community going beyond Zoom, so they had a studio to return to after Covid.

Nicole’s landlord generously worked with her, wanting to see the studio survive. Her student's bought class packages they couldn't use and started Go Fund me pages for her, and her teachers taught on Zoom for free.

“It was unheard of! I still can’t believe it,” said Nicole referring to the output of support she received.

Nicole was able to stay in business and reopen. But there were only three bolsters left on the merry-go-round. Her community was eager to practice in the studio together. She advertised a Yin style workshop, "Long, Slow and Deep"  - it immediately sold out.

Next the Inner Space Gals went to work, getting the rush order of 35 bolsters out the door! When Nicole told us her story, we were thrilled to help support her and her studio.

Nicole has been buying Inner Space Yoga bolsters since our original owner Angela operated it from her Asheville home in 2011. There is no telling how many Inner Space Bolsters Nicole has loved and shared with students since then.

Nicole never planned to have a yoga studio. But after being cured of Graves’ disease she walked out of church one day and decided to become a yoga teacher and open a studio.

“God just opens doors for me, and I go through them,” she said.

At Inner Space Yoga, we are honored and grateful to be a part of the Pink Lotus Yoga doors opening again.
