Two New Twills for 2022: Sand and Stone
Stones are some of the oldest inhabitants on the planet. Silently existing in space through time. Sand is basically millions of tiny stones, liquid rock. We measure small amounts of time with sand in an hour glass. Stone is solid, supportive and resilient. Sand is fluid and adaptive. We can form it into any shape we can imagine.
These fundamental qualities have inspired our newest fabric choices, Sand and Stone. The same substance in different forms. two different phases of matter.
When you do a restorative pose with an Inner Space bolster it supports you like stone. You can give your full weight into it, and fully let go of all of your holding. You can’t break it. Imagine you are made of stone! No senses of perception, no where to go, nothing to know! You can stay a looonnnggg time.
You can give your weight to the bolster because the bolster has a give of its own. It conforms just the right amount to your body, like sand. It’s fluid form supports you, so that you can find ease, and your form can become more fluid.
At Inner Space Yoga we love the peace and beauty that spending time in nature brings, and we want to share that with you. When the mind becomes quiet, when we are no longer reaching or pushing, a vibrant stone silence can infuse peace and space into every sound. The sounds are constant and ever-changing like sand, but they are also like stone. Two different states of the same matter. That peace that arises from a quiet mind is always there and available to you. Whether your life is calm or noisy, you can find a peace of silence (oddly enough) through sound meditation.
The Stone fabric is a brushed twill and 100 percent cotton. The brushed twill is the same soft and sturdy fabric as our signature Sweet Potato and Violet Meadow selections. The Sand fabric is a new flat twill. Also made of 100 percent cotton, its texture is silky smooth and solid. Our twills provide comfort and durability, making Sand and Stone a natural choice for studios and homes. Either way, they will stand the test of time.
